About Sisters Inside
Sisters Inside has worked alongside criminalised women and girls for more than thirty years.
Through this work we have supported thousands of women whose own childhoods were marked by institutionalisation, racism, family policing intervention, child imprisonment, poverty and violence.
We have seen first-hand how systems that promise “rehabilitation” too often deepen trauma while leaving the structural causes of criminalisation untouched. We therefore approach this Bill not only as advocates, but as an organisation with decades of practical experience supporting children, families and communities affected by Queensland’s youth justice system.
