Sisters Inside says Queensland’s Audit Office report should end any remaining illusion that prisons exist to “rehabilitate” people.
The independent audit confirms that Queensland Corrective Services is failing to deliver any kind of rehabilitation or reintegration across the prison system, with inconsistent case management, thousands of people unable to access programs, widespread overcrowding, and almost half of all people leaving prison receiving no pre-release support.
