Sisters Inside has condemned the Queensland Government’s latest expansion of Restricted Prisoner laws, describing the announcement as another example of fear-driven politics that prioritises punishment over genuine community safety.
Sisters Inside CEO Debbie Kilroy said the Premier’s latest announcement had nothing to do with preventing harm and everything to do with expanding the state’s capacity to keep people in prison for longer.
‘This is not leadership. It is punishment as political theatre,’ said Debbie Kilroy.
