Anti Violence Worker – SEQ

The Anti-Violence Worker primarily provides counselling and support for the women prisoners in the Southern Queensland Correctional Centre (SQCC) in Gatton, who have experienced domestic, family and/or sexual violence. Most of the work is individual counselling, including working with many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. The Worker is required to visit women in SQCC each week. Some group work with women prisoners may also be conducted (within the confines of the prison system).

Child & Parenting Support Worker – SEQ

The Child & Parenting Support Worker is primarily responsible for increasing the parenting capacity of criminalised mothers living in the community in South East Queensland, and improving the development and wellbeing of their children.  This includes work with women and children from a variety of cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children.  The Worker mainly provides intensive support to a small number of women.

Sexual Assault Worker – SEQ

The Sexual Assault Worker primarily provides counselling and support for the women prisoners in Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre, Helena Jones Correctional Centre and Numinbah Correctional Centre who have experienced sexual violence. Most of the work is individual counselling, including working with many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women prisoners. The Worker is required to travel to prison sites regularly each week. Some group work with women prisoners may also be conducted (within the confines of the prison system).
