Back To School Fund

Families of Queensland students can be expected to pay large sums across primary and secondary schooling for a range of educational supplies.

Stationery items for primary school students can cost up to $350.00 per child, and families of secondary school students can be $2000 out of pocket for laptops and stationary items required to participate in schooling.

In addition to stationary items and learning tools, families are also struggling to purchase school uniforms and shoes, often costing close to $350 to ensure a child has all necessary items.

But there’s a problem

We have identified a need for financial assistance amongst the families and children we support at Sisters Inside Inc. Many families are at financial capacity and unable to provide the tools the education system expects students to be equipped with.

While back-to-school expenses are a financial challenge to many families, it is particularly challenging to families and children affected by criminalisation and incarceration.

Here’s what we’re doing about it

We have created this fund with the intention of ensuring the children supported by Sisters Inside Inc. have the opportunity and means to fully participate in their schooling. 

Donations will be distributed to children and families supported by Sisters Inside Inc. in North and South East Queensland, with a view to widen the scope of support to other communities if donations permit.

Any and all donations will be used to purchase back-to-school necessities for children and families supported by Sisters Inside Inc. and identified by Sisters Inside Inc. as in need of financial support.

By donating to this fund you will help more than one child, and help more than one family raise strong and empowered people.
